2008-2009 season WCBA League Match was opened in Yinzhou gymnasium last night. After gaining the general championship, the girls of PLA Guangbo women basketball team defeated Shenyang army women basketball team with the score 88 to 63, starting its own new journey.

Last night belongs to PLA Guangbo women basketball team. In Yinzhou gymnasium, PLA Guangbo got the return for last season’s hard-working.

The players were running to the rewarding stage. The last ones who came to the stage were Shen Li, assistant coach and Liu Beiyan, political commissar. With big smile, wearing anadems on the head, they showed rings to all the audience. Chen Nan, Sui Feifei and Zhang Xiaoni were the most happy ones. Last year, led by them, the team regained the general championship. On behalf of the whole team, Chen Nan and Sui Feifei took over the general championship flag of 2007-2008 season from the leaders of basketball management center. Chen Nan said, “Getting the general championship ring makes me very happy.this is a kind of return for our hard-working in last season. However, walking down the rewarding stage, everything starts again.”

After the beginning of the match, both sides gave a mess performance. Chen Nan was not in the right condition. Depending on Zhang Xiaoni and Sui Feifei took turns to run under the basket, who gained 6 points in the previous 12 minutes, PLA Guangbo lead eight points with the score 12 to 4. After the pause, Shenyang army women basketball team gradually chased closely to the score and went beyond. When the first section ended, PLA Guangbo was two points behind with the score 19 to 21. however, in the second section, veteran player Bai Hua played. Chen Nan started to play well, leading PLA Guang beat the opponent with the score 8 to 0. When this section ended, PLA Guangbo was leading 10 points. In the third section, PLA Guangbo continued to expand the leading advantage. Once leading 20 points, lay the victory.

Zhang Xiaoni got 17 points, the highest score of the team. Sui Feifei got 16 points five snatchings. Chen Nan got 13 points eleven rebounds. Fu Chi also performed well this time, starting her new season with 11 points five rebounds.

PLA Guangbo: the future is still tough

Last night, Shenyang army women basketball team didn’t send the most stong lineup. Chief commander Zhang Shuping also said that the main purpose was to train the team. Most medium and young players were on the field, while veteran players were at the side. Master player Zhang Hanlan, previous master players Hu Xiaotao and Mo Li, couldn’t play because of injury. Two major players of the court, Liu Dan had the pain in the waist, and Song Liwei didn’t play much last year. Only trained for five days before the match. Having such performance was really not easy. Zhan Shuping also showed, only after several rounds can these players gradually play. Their current league match goal is to become the top eight. Apparently, it’s not courteous.

Certainly, PLA Guangbo also exsits some problems at present. Wu Xinci said, the level of that night was a little higher than the mean level. PLA Guangbo has few players can go to play. Two veterans write new biography

69-year-old Wu Xinci reappeared 10 years later, holding the ferule of WCBA league match defending champion. A few people taka a sceptical attitute whether she can lead the team well. 35-year-old Bai Hua returned to play after two years' retirement. Her good performance really surprised us. Last night, two veterans stared their new journey with the big victory in Yinzhou gymnasium. For them, that's really a successful sign.

Wu Xinci's first piece of work

Wu Xinci's first piece of work was slightly conservative, because of the presure of winning the game.

After the first section, PLA Guangbo fell behind two points. In the second section, she sent Bai Hua to play, changed the situation by developing proper tactics and led the team to the victory.

Several years later, it's her first time to lead the game. So Wu XInci was very excited. However, that's not because of winning the game. "For so many years, win or lose seems normal to me." Certainly, she showed, winning the game was a happy thing. Because the first match can motivate and encourage the players. Sui Feifei and Chen Nan had the same words after the match.

Except she showed some characteristics of her age in the aspect of tone of speaking, in other aspects, it could hardly tell that Wu Xinci had been away for many years. For instance, ten years ago, she used tactics plate. Now during the suspension, she still uses tactics plate. "Too noisy, players can't hear clearly. Using tactics plate will be much clear." In fact, in the past years' matches, still some women basketball coaches didn't use tactics plate. For her, the difference of retiring life and leading team life is that, the former, easy life, only need to take good care of myself. The latter, stressful day, should study myself and study the opponents.

Last night's opponent, Zhan Shuping, chief commander of Shenyang aemy women basketball team, communicated with her old coach after match. For Wu Xinci's returning, she's somewhat surprised, but she felt reasonable. She showed, the requirement of being a coach is the ability, not the age limit. Wu Xinci had such ability.

Bai Hua's successful sign

Bai Hua last night's performance let most audience surprise. It can hardly believe that a temporary returning player can have such performance. "For two years, I didn't play with the team. I'm a little excited for the first time to play. The team is very united, and fight with all strength under any circumstances." Bai Hua said after the match.

Bai Hua showed in the second section yesterday, exited in the early two minutes of the third section. PLA Guangbo fell behind two points then led 17 points. Such change couldn't be said to be brought by Bai Hua. However, she didn’t become the short plate of the team, but effectively activate the team. Except the limited of speed and physical strength, passing ball and shooting consciousness still exited.

Bai Hua showed content with her own performance, except some problems with physical strength. “Just gave birth to a baby. I haven’t practiced for a long time. After playing one section, two legs become a little heavy. It should be better if I play longer.” Bai Hua said.

Wu Xinci showed, Bai Hua played the role of the sixth person. “Five people play basketball on the field. She is waiting off the field. If something goes wrong, just adjust and send her to play.” The purpose of finding Bai Hua back was to let her lead the younger players of the team.

Bai Hua’s returning was very sudden. Having such performance in the first match let people satisfied. For Bai Hua, compared with two years ago, the biggest change is mentality. She used to act as brunt controlling guard, having great pressure. This time, as the sixth person, her mood of playing basketball should be much relaxing.
